Professional appointments

Dr Ken Ip is a New Zealand-trained specialist in Dermatology. He holds appointment as consultant medical & surgical Dermatologist at Auckland City Hospital.

Ken graduated from the University of Auckland with the Robb Douglas prize for the achieving the highest number of distinctions in his medical studies. He completed his specialist advanced training in Dermatology under the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

He undertook further subspecialist training in the diagnosis and management of melanoma through a two year fellowship at the renowned Victorian Melanoma Service in Melbourne, Australia. His research in melanoma has been awarded with multiple accolades locally and internationally.

Ken is actively involved in dermatology research and education. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Auckland medical school, Associate Editor for the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, and sits on the Board of Trustees for DermNet.

He grew up locally, attending Shelly Park School and graduating as dux from Saint Kentigern College, and is committed to expanding the provision of dermatology services to East Auckland.
